China and Pakistan Call for Immediate End to Civilian Attacks in the Middle East
The two sides jointly announced a five-point initiative aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region. Key elements of the proposal include an immediate ceasefire, the resumption of dialogue, and coordinated international efforts to address the conflict’s economic and security consequences.
Both countries also voiced concern over the broader impact of the crisis, particularly on developing economies facing rising energy costs and disrupted trade routes. They emphasized the importance of maintaining stability in critical areas such as the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy corridor.
In addition to regional issues, the ministers reviewed progress in bilateral relations, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework. They also highlighted ongoing high-level exchanges as the two nations mark 75 years of diplomatic relations.
Pakistan’s mediation efforts, including its offer to host direct talks between the United States and Iran, have received international support, with China encouraging continued dialogue to achieve lasting peace.
